[[ホビット庄]]、[[東四が一の庄>四が一の庄#East]]の[[橋野]]にある、[[ボルジャー家]]が代々居住する村。[[東街道]]沿いの[[白畦村]]から北の[[岩村]]へ向かう道が通る「[[川>川（ホビット庄）]]」の浅瀬のそばにある((『[[unfinished index]]』‘village by a ford over the Shire-water in Bridgefields (chief dwelling of the Bolgers)’))。

『[[Guide to the Names in The Lord of the Rings]]』によると、'''Budge'''の意味ははっきりしないが、恐らく'''bolge'''や'''bulge'''の訛った形であり、ボルジャー家の主な住居(the main residence of the Bolger family)であったことから付けられた名前であろうとされる。
